Principal Process Engineer – The Hague


Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Process Engineer to lead their process team on a multi-office project.


Our client is a global provider of professional services in the energy, chemicals and resources sectors. They deliver projects and provide engineering, procurement and construction expertise to the upstream, midstream, chemicals, power, and mining and minerals sectors.


  • Lead and manage the process team on (an area of) a multi-office project.
  • Ensure the successful and timely delivery of a safe and sustainable design.
  • Provide clear and strong direction to the team, ensuring technical requirements are met and applied effectively to the project.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and integration of process engineering activities.


  • Minimum of 17 years of relevant experience, with at least 14 years working for an engineering company.
  • Demonstrated success as an (area) lead engineer, showcasing strong leadership and technical capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Exceptional knowledge and expertise in process engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a diverse team and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities to address complex engineering challenges.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety standards and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Proven experience in refinery, petrochemicals, and/or energy transition markets.
  • Previous experience with multi-office project execution is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in software such as Smartplant PID (SPPID), Aveva engineering, and Bluebeam will be advantageous.
