Scientific Software Developer – The Hague


Our client in The Hague is looking for a Scientific Software Developer working on inflow models for wind turbine loads simulations to join their team.


Our client designs, manufactures and sells both onshore and offshore wind turbines. They also carry out the management, monitoring and maintenance of wind farms. They have operational presence in Europe, America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.


  • Develop libraries for computationally efficient wind models.
  • Integrate these libraries into the numerical loads tools.
  • Test and validate the models using synthetic data and measured data from the prototype test sites, evaluate and quantify model and parameter uncertainties.
  • Deploy and document the models as well as maintain the code, automatise them and support the developers of pre- and post-processing tools.
  • Work in an international environment with colleagues from all over the world at our offices in Denmark, Spain and Germany.


  • A BSc/MSc/BEng/MEng degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Physics, Meteorology or a comparable degree.
  • You have a solid background in Fluid Mechanics and/or the Atmospheric Boundary Layer, knowledge about Optics and/or LiDARs is a plus.
  • Several years of experience or a PhD in a related field are considered a plus, but are not mandatory to this position.
  • Experience in the analysis and processing of measurement data.
  • Programming skills in Matlab and basic skills in a compiled language (C/C++ or Fortran) are required.
  • You possess strong analytical qualities and are enthusiastic, self-starting, result, and quality oriented, customer focused and resourceful. We are looking for a person with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • It is paramount that you are proficient in English, both in reading and writing.
  • You have the nationality of an EU/EEA country, UK, or Switzerland. If you have another nationality you need to be in possession of a valid work permit.
