Our client is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer Emergency Power Systems to join a highly skilled technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, verification, and optimization of complete emergency power installations.

You will ensure that generators, engines, switchgear, fuel systems, control systems, and supporting equipment operate safely, reliably, and in accordance with all applicable standards and project requirements. Your ultimate goal is to deliver fully operational emergency power solutions that meet the highest quality and safety standards.
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will work on projects throughout the Netherlands and internationally, spending approximately 70% of your time abroad. This requires flexibility, adaptability, and strong technical expertise to work effectively across various environments and cultures. Working closely with project, engineering, and installation teams, you will oversee testing procedures, validate system performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support successful project handovers to customers.

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during commissioning and testing activities.

  • Coordinate, execute, and document Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Perform structured testing and verification of generators and complete emergency power systems.
  • Analyze technical issues during commissioning and implement effective, fact-based solutions.
  • Work with the company's proprietary generator control system to manage automatic transfer between utility power and backup power.
  • Configure and test synchronization of multiple generators to ensure seamless operation.
  • Utilize advanced data logging capabilities to diagnose faults and optimize system performance.
  • Commission fuel systems and verify correct operation.
  • Commission complete urea (AdBlue) systems.
  • Ensure all installations comply with applicable standards, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning reports, test documentation, and system validation records.
  • This position offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a dynamic international environment.

Wat heb je nodig

  • MBO Level 4 (or equivalent vocational/technical education and working level).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Commissioning Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Troubleshooting Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong electrical engineering background.
  • Proven ability to read electrical schematics and perform fault diagnostics.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical components and hands-on experience with electrical connections and installations.
  • Experience with at least one generator control system such as DEIF, ComAp, or Deep Sea Electronics (DSE).
  • Good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 70% of the time.
  • Residence within approximately 1.5 hours' travel distance from IJmuiden.
